A

Abstinence – not engaging in sexual intercourse for a period of time.

Adult Store – a store that sells sexually explicit books, magazines, videos, sex toys or clothing.  Most adult stores require you to be 18 years old or older to enter.

Afterplay – The comforting interactions that occur after intercourse or climax of sexual activity.  Some of these interactions are cuddling, kissing, fondling, etc.

Anal Sex – Sexual contact or intercourse with the anus. 

Anilingus – oral stimulation of the anus such as licking, kissing or tonguing.  Often called rimming or salad tossing. 

Arousal – stimulation of your sexual interests.  In a male, an erection occurs.  In females, her vagina becomes lubricated (wet) and there are physical changes in her breasts, clitoris, and nipples.

Auto Cunnilingus – the act of performing cunnilingus on yourself.

Auto Fellatio – the act of performing fellatio on yourself.

B

Bagpiping – slang for axillary intercourse.

Bartholin’s Glands – two small glands in a woman that release fluids when a woman becomes sexually aroused.  These glands are located on either side of the vaginal opening.

BDSM – name of a sexual lifestyle.  The term merges three sexual practices: B&D (Bondage and Discipline),  d/s (Dominance and Submission), S&M (Sadism and Masochism).

Ben Wa Balls – two small balls that are hollow and contain a small metal ball.  They can be inserted into the vagina or anus for increased sexual pleasure.

Bisexual – someone who has sex with or erotic attractions towards people of the same and opposite sex.

Blow Job – slang used to describe the act of performing oral sex on a man.

Blumpkin – when a guy receives oral sex while they are going poop.

Bondage – a sexual practice that involves physical restraint of an individual by use of ropes, chains, ties, leather straps, handcuffs or other restraining objects.

Bottom – a term used in S&M that refers to a person that gets erotic pleasure from giving complete control to another person (playing the submissive role).

Butt Cheek Sex – the slang term for intergluteal sex. 

Butt Plug – a type of dildo that is specifically designed to be inserted in the anus for increased sexual pleasure.  Some can vibrate.

C

Camel Toe – a common term used to describe the outline of a vagina as a result of wearing tight clothing.

Chickenhead – slang for someone who enjoys giving fellatio or a blowjob.

Clitoris – in females, a small organ located on the top of the vulva with tons of nerve endings.  Its only purpose is to give sexual pleasure and orgasm to women. 

Cock Ring – a circular band worn on the base of the penis for sexual pleasure or to restrict blood to stay in the penis so a man can maintain an erection for a longer period of time. 

Condom – a sheath, usually made of latex that is placed over a penis to prevent pregnancy and STD’s.

Cowper’s Glands – two small glands in a man that release alkaline fluids into the urethra prior to ejaculation.  The Cowper’s Glands are located below the prostate gland.  Also known as the bulbourethral glands. 

Cunnilingus – oral sex performed on a woman by using ones mouth, tongue, lips or teeth to stimulate a woman’s vulva, clitoris or vagina.  Often called eating her out, or going down on a woman.

D

Deep-throat – a type of oral sex where the penis is deeply penetrated into the mouth and throat of another person.  A person must be able to overcome his or her gag-reflex.

Desire - the feeling of interest for sexual contact.

Dildo – a sex toy used to substitute an erect penis and designed for vaginal or anal sexual pleasure.  Usually made of silicone, rubber, latex or plastic.

Doggy-Style – slang for rear entry

Dry Humping –term used to describe frottage.

E

Ejaculation – the release of semen from the penis, usually accompanied by an orgasm.  The semen is often ejected in concurrence with orgasmic spasms. 

Ejaculatory Ducts – the tiny tubes that run from the vas deferens to the urethra in a male’s reproductive system.  When a male ejaculates theses ducts pump the semen out of the penis.

Epididymis – inside the testicles, the area between the seminiferous tubules and the vas deferens that holds newly produced sperm.

Erection – when the tissue of the penis is filled with blood causing the penis to become hard and larger in size.  Usually occurs when a man becomes sexually aroused. 

Erogenous Zones – the areas on a male or females body that gives them pleasure causing sexual arousal and desire. 

Erotica – similar to pornography, and is used to enhance sexual experience, but the photographs, videos, or visual images contain sensual loving interaction.

Exhibitionist - a person who receives sexual pleasure from allowing others to watch them participate in sexual acts.

F

Facesiting - a sexual act where one person sits on or over another persons face until orgasm or ejaculation.  Also known as queening.

Facial – the term used to describe the sexual activity of ejaculating on one or more peoples face during oral sex, mutual masturbation, sexual intercourse or anal sex.  Often called pearl necklace.

Fellatio – Oral stimulation of the penis in a sexual manner.  One person will suck, lick or kiss another persons penis, typically resulting in ejaculation and/or orgasm.  Sometimes called “blow job”, “giving head” or  “sucking him off”.

Fetish – Sexual satisfaction that a person receives from a not conventionally viewed nonsexual object or body part. 

Fingering – the sexual act of using fingers to stimulate one’s vagina, clitoris or anus.

Fisting – the insertion of an individuals entire hand and sometimes part of their arm into the vagina or anus of another person for sexual pleasure.

Footjob – the term used to describe manual stimulation of a males genitals by the other partners foot or feet.

Foreplay – any sexual activity that occurs prior to sexual intercourse and is meant to sexually arouse people.

Foreskin – the thin layer of skin that is present on the tip of an uncircumcised penis.  The foreskin is removed during circumcision.

French Kiss – an open mouth kiss where both partners swirl their tongues around in each other’s mouth. 

Frenulum – a highly sensitive tiny fold of skin on the underside of the shaft on the penis.  The sexual arousal a man experiences when the frenulum is stimulated is comparable to the sexual arousal a woman experiences from clitoris stimulation.  Sometimes during circumcision the frenulum is removed. 

Frottage - sexual stimulation that involves rubbing against each other in a sexual way without penetration.  Usually your clothing remains on your body, but you can be naked.

G

Gag Reflex – a natural reflex that causes a person to gag when the back of their throat is touched. 

Gang Bang – slang for group sex.

Gang Suck – when a person performs oral sex on multiple people at the same time.

Gay – male homosexual.

Glans – sensitive head of the penis. 

Group Sex – simultaneous sexual interaction with multiple partners at the same time.  Often called gang bang.

G-Spot – an erogenous zone located 1-2 inches on the inner vagina upper wall.  Stimulation of the g-spot leads to intense orgasms, increased sexual arousal and often squirting.

H

Hand Job – the term used to describe using a hand to sexually stimulate a man’s penis.

Hickey – A temporary bruise that occurs when one sucks on a body part of another during foreplay activity.

Homosexual – A person who has a physical or sexual attraction to people of the same sex.

I

Intercrural sex - the sex act where one partner thrusts their penis into the other partners thigh until orgasm or ejaculation.  Often called thigh sex.

Intergluteal sex - the sex act where on partner thrusts their penis is the other partners butt checks until orgasm or ejaculation.  Often called butt cheek sex.

J

Jack Off – Slang term for handjob.

Jacking – Slang for male masturbation.

Jilling – Slang for female masturbation.

K

Kegel Exercises – an exercise where you tightened and relax your PC (pubococcygeal) muscles to strengthen them and to increase sexual pleasure. 

Kinky – term used to describe eccentric sex practices.

L

Labia Majora – the outer most lips on the vulva.

Labia Minora – the inner most lips on the vulva.

Lesbian – female homosexual.

Lust – a strong sexual desire to have contact with someone in a sexual manner.

M

Marquis de Sade – A French aristocrat of the late 1700s that wrote erotic writings of his sexually dominating needs.  The term “sadist” is derived from his name. 

Mammary Intercourse - the term used to describe the sex act where on partner thrusts their penis into the other partners breast until orgasm or ejaculation.  Also known as tittysex.

Masochism - sexual satisfaction from receiving pain, humiliation, or suffering.  Also called a masochist.

Massage – the act of rubbing and kneading the body to relax and calm their muscles.

Master/Mistress – a person who receives sexual pleasure from being dominated by another person.

Masturbation – manual stimulation of the body, especially the genitals, for sexual pleasure and orgasm. 

Ménage A Trois – a sexual relationship or encounter with 3 people.  Often referred to as a threesome.

Missionary position – a common sexual position where the man is on top of the woman during sexual intercourse.

Monogamy – a sexually and romantically exclusive relationship amongst two people. 

Mons Veneris – the soft area located above a women’s vulva that is normally covered with pubic hair after puberty.  Also called the mons pubis.

Mutual Masturbation – sexual activity where each partner manually stimulates each other at the same time. 

N

Nipple – the tips on the center of the breast on a male or female.  The nipples contain erectile tissue and when stimulated some people experience sexual pleasure.

O

Oral Sex – sexual stimulation of the male or female genitals by using your mouth, tongue, teeth or throat.

Orgasm – the moment when a person climax’s sexually.  During climax a person will experience muscular spasms, especially in the pelvic muscles and intense erotic sensation.  Often called coming.

Orgasmic Expulsion – the ejection of clear fluid by a female during or prior to orgasm.  Often called squirting.

Orgy – group sex involving five or more individuals.

P

Pearl Necklace – slang term for facial.

Penis – the male organ used for sexual pleasure, reproduction, urination and ejaculation of semen. 

Perineum  - the skin located between the anus and genitals on both men and women.  The caressing of the perineum sexually arouses some people. 

Phallic – associated with or similar to a penis.

Pornography – sexually explicit material such as writings, pictures, videos or spoken words that stimulates sexual arousal and desire.  Also called porn or porno.

Pre-ejaculatory Fluid – liquid that is discharged from a man’s penis before ejaculation.  Pre-ejaculatory fluid may contain sperm and is also called pre-cum.

Pubococcygeal Muscles (PC) – the muscles located in both men and women that surround the sex organs, pubic bone and tailbone.  Your PC muscles contract during orgasm and if you work out your PC muscles regularly, they can boost sexual climax.  Kegel exercises are said to strengthen your PC muscles. 

Q

Quickie – a brief or spontaneous sexual experience. 

R

Rear Entry – a sexual position where one partner penetrates the other partner from behind, either vaginally or anally.  Also called doggy-style.

Rimming – Slang meaning annilingus

Role-Playing – when partners sexual act out certain roles for variety in their sex life.

S

Sacher-Masoch, Leopold von – an Austrian writer of the 1800’s that received sexual pleasure by being sexually submissive.  The term Masochism is derived from his name. 

Sadism – sexual satisfaction from sexually dominated another person by causing them pain or humiliation.  Also called a sadist.

Sadomasochism (S/M or S&M) – a term that interrelates sadism and masochism. 

Safeword – a word or phase used that either person uses when they want to discontinue a sexual activity.  Largely used in BDSM.

Scrotum – the sac of skin located under the penis that contains the testicles, epididymis, part of the vas deferens and seminiferous tubules of the male genitals and reproductive system.

Scrumping – slang for frottage.

Seduction – the process of deliberately tempting someone into sexual behavior.

Semen- a milky looking fluid that contains organic and inorganic nutrients, along with sperm.  Semen is ejaculated from the penis and usually results in an orgasm.

Seminal Vesicles – two sacs in the male reproductive system that produces and releases 65-70% of the fluid in semen.

Seminiferous Tubules – tiny ducts in the testicles that produce sperm.

Sex Addict – a person that has a sexual obsession of some sort.

Sex Education – the teaching and learning on a variety of subjects that relate to sex.

Sexologist – a professional in sexology.

Sexology – the scientific study of all aspects of sexuality.

Sex Toys – an object or gadget that is used to increase sexual pleasure.

Sexpert – Slang term for Sexologist. 

Sexual Compatibility – the condition of being well matched with a person sexually. 

Sexual Fantasy – a erotic idea or sexual situation that an individual makes up in their mind for sexual arousal.

Sexual Identity – how one feels about themselves in terms of their own masculinity or femininity and whom they find sexually attractive.

Sexual Orientation – a person’s sexual preference in who they find sexually attractive.

Sexual Response – the stages a man or woman go through when receiving sexual stimulation.

Sexual Submissive – giving complete control to another person during sexual activities.

Sexuality – a person’s sexual characteristics marked by their wants and needs from sexual activity.

Sixty-Nine – the term used to describe mutual oral sex at the same time.

Sperm  - the reproductive cell found in a male’s semen and released during ejaculation.

Squirting – slang for orgasmic expulsion.

T

Tantra – the sexual practices between two individuals based on spirituality and wisdom.

Testicles (testes) – two oval shaped glands in the scrotum that produce male hormones and sperm.

Thigh Sex – slang for intercrural sex.

Titty Sex – slang for mammary intercourse.

Top – a term used in S&M that refers to a person that gets erotic pleasure from taking complete control over another person (playing the dominant role).

Transgender – a person that has the need to dress or practice traits of the opposite sex. 

Transsexual  - A person that feels like they were born under the wrong sex.  Many transsexuals undergo a sex change.

Transvestite – A person who feels the need to dress as the opposite sex they were born under.  Also know as crossdresser’s.

Tribadism - the term used to describe the sex act where a woman rubs her vulva against the other partner until orgasm or for sexual pleasure.  Also known as scissoring.

U

Unrequited Love – love that is not returned.

V

Vagina – the area on a female that leads from the vulva to the uterus.  This area is usually penetrated during sexual intercourse.

Vas Deferens – a thin tube in the male reproductive system that transports sperm to be mixed with semen and out to the urethra for ejaculation.

Vasocongestion – sexual arousal that causes the mans penis to become erect or the woman’s vulva area to become swelled.

Vibrator – an electronic device that vibrates and causes sexual pleasure on individuals during sexual activity. 

Virtual Sex - the term used to describe sex between two people by some form of communication device such as a cell phone or computer.

Voyeur – a person who receives sexual pleasure from watching others participate in sexual acts.

Vulva – the external structure that makes up the females sexual area.  Composed of the mons veneris, labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, Bartholin’s gland, and the vagina.
